Culture is defined as the behaviors, ideas, attitudes, and traditions shared by a large group of people and transmittted from one generation to the next. Our adaptability is visible in our cultural variations among our beliefs and values. Culture influences behavior through the beliefs and traditions that have been passed down to us from other generations. For example, how we raise our children, how we bury our dead, and even what we wear are ways culture influences our behavior. Culture even comes into play with eating habits. Taboos of eating in certain cultures originated at some time in history, and have now become customary in different cultures to be a part of their daily life and behavior. Thus, culture and its many pieces it is made up of, aid in affecting how people behave.
